Single Sign-On (SSO) and the application portal are major components of HelloID. HelloID supports all major SSO protocols such as SAML and OpenID, and also supports legacy web applications through its browser plugin. This means that nearly all web-based applications can have their authentication integrated with HelloID in one form or another. HelloID provides a catalog of predefined applications, but you may also configure other applications by using a generic template, or by requesting a template to be built for you.
Before any of your organization's users can leverage SSO in their day-to-day work, you need to add applications. In HelloID, all applications need to be added by users with the Administrator role through the administrator dashboard.
Add an application
- To manage applications navigate to Applications -> Applications on the HelloID Administrator Dashboard.
- In the application page there is an overview of all configured Applications. Here you can add and edit applications. To add a new application, start by clicking Open application catalog.
- Within the catalog is a list of preconfigured applications. You can browse or search for your desired application and then click its Add button. If you cannot find what you're looking for, you can use one of the generic templates.
- After you add an application, you will be redirected to its configuration wizard. Configuring specific applications is beyond the scope of this article, but you can read more about managing applications here. Guides to specific applications can be found here.
