Notifications must be enabled
Users must be granted the appropriate rights before they can receive notifications. See Enable notifications.
Introduction
Notifications are used to communicate important information to your organization's users.
When a notification is created, it is displayed prominently on the HelloID user dashboard for all authorized users. This is useful, for example, to notify users about important company events or downtime.
To get started, go to Settings > Notifications.
Create a notification
- On the Notifications Overview, select the Create Notification button.
- On the General tab, enter the following information:
- Title
The title of the notification. Shown only in the admin dashboard. - Message
The body of the message. Select the Markdown syntax button to see available formatting. You can personalize the message using double curly brace syntax, e.g.,{{audienceUser.firstName}}
. - Visible From (UTC)
The date and time at which the notification will first appear. - Has Expire Date
The date and time at which the notification will disappear (optional). - Color
The color of the notification. - Icon
The icon to display along with the message.

- On the Audience tab, you may limit the visibility of your notification to a subset of your users.
- Expose to users
Turn off this toggle to hide the notification completely. - Target specific groups
Turn on this toggle to select one or more groups for whom the notification will be visible. The notification will only be visible to members of these groups.

- Select the Save button to confirm.
View a notification
The notification is now visible to the chosen groups on the HelloID user dashboard.
Any variables in the message are resolved (e.g., {{audienceUser.firstName}}
becomes "John").
Select the Dismiss link after the message is read.
Dismissed notifications may be viewed by selecting the bell icon in the menu bar:
