Source systems are the starting point of every provisioning process. They are where the process retrieves information about the people within your organization. That information is then used to create and manage accounts, access, and permissions. This article will walk you through the basics of how source systems are configured in HelloID's provisioning module.
The Source Systems Overview
From the provisioning dashboard, you can click on the Source Systems icon, or on its corresponding link in the navigation. This will take you to the Source Systems overview. The overview is broken out into four distinct sections, as detailed below.
- Integrated Systems
This area shows you the systems to which HelloID is currently connected. At a glance, you are provided with information about its current state and its last import results. You may also modify the listed systems by clicking on their wrench icons, remove them by clicking on the trash can, or you may add additional systems by clicking on the plus sign button at the top of the list.
The configuration area allows you to define global details for the source systems, such as how display names are formulated and how each user's primary contract and manager are defined.
- Latest Imports
This area displays an audit history of the snapshot and import jobs from the defined source systems. You can see when an import was started, when it finished, and whether or not it was successful.
- HelloID Persons
This is a list of all person records that have been imported from the defined source systems. The pattern of each person's display name is defined in the Configuration area (2).
