Certain tasks rely on a system configuration to provide external connectivity. To see an overview of all current system configurations in your HelloID environment, go to Automation > Systems.
NOTE: Not all tasks require a system configuration. In some tasks, you directly provide system connection information inside the task itself. Tasks which require a system will have a corresponding drop down menu in their settings.
The Systems Overview
The Systems Overview lists each external system to which HelloID has a connection.
Each system has its own tile which displays the system's name, type, and actions that may be performed.
- Name and icon
The name and icon of the system.
The type of system is displayed in the upper-right corner of the tile. There are three types of systems: Target, Source, and Connection.
You may either edit (pencil button) or delete (trashcan button) each system. See Create or manage a system. Tasks that rely on deleted systems will cease to function.
NOTE: New HelloID customers should add Provisioning source systems and target systems via the new Provisioning module. Source and target systems used for provisioning systems in Automation > Systems are deprecated, and only relevant to customers who have not yet migrated to the new Provisioning module.
Target systems are those in which HelloID directly manages accounts or writes data. Active Directory is a common example of a target system.
Source systems are sources from which HelloID retrieves data.
Connection systems are those which HelloID interacts with via an API. File sharing cloud applications such as Dropbox are a good example of a connection system.
