Note: Servicedesk permissions are required
To use delegated forms, end users must be given Servicedesk rights.
Introduction
HelloID's delegated forms let you assign traditional helpdesk tasks to users within your organization. They empower your users while hiding complexity and minimizing unnecessary permissions. For example, you can assign a delegated form to an end user that enables or disables other users' accounts. The assigned user doesn't need administrative rights in the target system. Instead, they simply fill out the delegated form and HelloID does the rest.
Users can access their assigned delegated forms in the Servicedesk tab of the HelloID end user dashboard.
Delegated forms comprise three major sub-components: Forms, Tasks, and Categories.
Forms
HelloID has three built-in types of delegated forms. These are called simple delegated forms.
- Disable account
To disable a user's AD account. - Reset password
To reset a user's AD password. - Unlock account
To unlock a user's AD account.
These are the three most common delegated forms used by HelloID customers. However, you can also create custom delegated forms by using a dynamic form as a template. These are called advanced delegated forms. We provide a catalog of pre-packaged advanced delegated forms.
When a user submits a delegated form, its input fields are passed to a task.
Tasks
Tasks make things happen when a delegated form is submitted. User input fields from the underlying dynamic form are passed to the task as a variable, and can be used in the task's PowerShell code.
Categories
Categories help organize delegated forms on the Servicedesk tab of the end user dashboard.
