Correlation
Correlation is a Provisioning feature that links Persons in HelloID with existing accounts in a target system. Its purpose is to avoid creating duplicate accounts.
Correlation works by comparing two fields:
a person correlation field - a selected field in HelloID’s Person schema (like ExternalId)
an account correlation field - the corresponding field in a target system account.
When HelloID is about to create an account for a person in a target system, and correlation is enabled for that target system, it first checks whether an account already exists. If a matching account is found, HelloID does not create a new one. Instead it correlates (associates) the person with that account and updates the account’s attributes using the person data.
Correlation is configured per target system by selecting which fields will be used to match an existing account to a person.
