Manually correlate an account to a person
Follow this procedure when HelloID could not automatically link an existing account to a person.
Note
In HelloID, a person can only have one account per target system.
View a person's target accounts to see whether an account in the respective target system is already linked to the person in HelloID. If there is, and it is not the correct one, Fix a wrongly correlated account.
Make sure the person is in scope of a business rule that grants the account: View a person's business rules, or go to Business > Rules, open a business rule and view the in-scope persons in the Persons pane.
When HelloID needs to create an account for a person in a target system and Correlation is set up for that target system, HelloID will first attempt to link an existing account to the person by matching a Person Correlation Field with an attribute of the target account (Account Correlation Field).
Ensure that correlation is enabled for the relevant target system:
Compare the values of the correlation fields for the person and the account.
You may need to update the person's correlation field value in the source system using the external admin console. After updating the value, Run a manual import to update the person in HelloID.
If the account's correlation field value must be updated to match the person's correlation value, there are two ways to do this.
Link an account to a person (Import entitlements report).
When the entitlements are imported, the account is marked as granted to the person. During the next Enforcement, HelloID updates the account's correlation value.
Or:
Use the external admin console to update the value directly in the target system. Note: For Azure AD target systems, this is the only option.
Correlation takes place when HelloID runs the Create action during enforcement.
Wait until the next scheduled Enforcement, or Run an enforcement.
Alternatively, if the person has previously been granted an account in the same target system by HelloID, you can Re-enforce an entitlement for the person's Account entitlement in the relevant target system.
The account is now correlated to the person and managed by HelloID, and will receive person data and entitlement updates.
