HelloID

Credential sets

2022-09-23_14-04-39.jpg

Credential sets contain users' login credentials for Plugin applications, Form applications, and Basic Auth applications (all of which have a Credentials tab).

They are populated the first time a user successfully launches an application. Their values depend on the Application credentials method that you've configured for the application.

To get started, Edit a user's credential set or Clear a credential set.

Caution

For SAML applications, OIDC applications, and WS Federation applications, HelloID instead uses Application mapping sets to build the claim set. In this case, the application will not have a Credentials tab. Instead, there will be a link to the relevant mapping set on the Configuration tab:

Note that a small number of SAML, OIDC, and WS Fed apps are exceptions and do use credentials instead of mapping sets. In this case, the credentials are used internally to build the claim set, so the end result is the same.

Note

Users can view, update, and remove their own credential sets on the user dashboard. See Applications for users.

The Allow Show Credentials and Enable Change Password application options, respectively, determine whether users may view/edit their own credential set for a given application.
