Product categories
A product category is an object that contains both Groups and Products. It plays a dual role when users Request a product (user dashboard):
It is an access control mechanism. All users in the category's groups are allowed to view & request the category's products on the Service Automation > Self Service Products page of the user dashboard. Note that this is in addition to users in the groups directly linked to the product on the product's Groups tab.
It is a filtering mechanism. Users can filter products by category on the Service Automation > Self Service Categories page of the user dashboard, before making a request.
To get started, Add a product category, and then Link a category to a product and/or Link a category to a group.
