Provisioning Agent
There are two types of Provisioning Agent:
On-premises Provisioning Agent: Runs on a server in your organization's network. Necessary if you need to execute code on-premises.
Cloud Provisioning Agent: Runs on the Tools4ever cloud. Easier to use if you don't need to execute code on-premises.
Both types of the Provisioning Agent have the same capabilities, and are responsible for the following:
Retrieving data from Source systems (e.g., HR and SIS databases)
Provisioning user accounts and entitlements in PowerShell target systems and PowerShell v2 target systems
Executing PowerShell scripts in both source and target systems
Each supported system has an Execute On-Premises toggle:
Off: The system will use a Cloud Provisioning Agent.
On: This system will use an On-premises Provisioning Agent.
Tip
Recommended: Set the toggle to Off (Cloud), unless you specifically require on-premises Agent functionality (e.g., non-standard PowerShell modules or DLLs).
